  1. 4 out of 5

This is a big unit so consider that when planning where to mount it. The best place I could find to mount my unit was behind the cabinet that houses all the power distribution panels for the 12v and 120v systems. I went with this system because of the ability to monitor the protector with the app via blue tooth. The tip I got from Hughes was to register the unit with the app on my phone before I installed it behind the cabinet and could not see it. There is a QR Code on the front that registers it with the app. I was able to mount the unit in a way that I was able to drill a 1″ hole in the cabinet to see the 2 digit display on the face of the protector. I am now protected from both the generator and shore power. So far the only disappointment is, when I took it out of the box, it states “made in China”. Can’t say I am happy about that. Time will tell if it was a wise purchase.

Issue found right after plugging in the first time. Got the white dog when I plugged it in and then turned it off to connect the RV. After switching the power back on I got a red led light. Had the pedestal serviced and the plug was bad. Now we’re up and running. My old surge protector never even detected a problem.
